The Crackerjack Store

This grew out of fooling around with a theremin and seeing what developed. The lyrics are utter nonsense, with the first half almost coalescing into something resembling a story. The second half is just a list of Yukio Mishima's short stories, some of which have wonderful titles like "Hymn of the Dawn Bell." (Just returned from Japan.) Had to whisper because we had people in the house.

Lyrics

The facts:

At the back of a shack Jack saw a slack-jawed jackdaw with a hacksaw on a see saw and what's more Jack saw a black boar with Jimmy Crack Corn and 44 more jackdaws flying off to the Crackerjack Store

Twilight sunflower, dragon flute tiger balm, garden songs the flower hat, nonexistent things human statues, a cheerful lover the requiem boat, hymn of the dawn bell the polite machine, shimmers on the villa

Your tags pulled me in and your song didn't disappoint. Your abstract vocals sung in that low, whispery, surrealistic/techno manner worked great over your beat. Great start.

Goth af. I loved it right from the start. Great use of effects on the various elements.

I felt the energy of this right at bar 1. 😊

Really liking all the instrumental and vocal textures here! It's a great trip, in every sense of the word, and a great way to begin the voyage of FAWM.

Mr Surrealistica starts off with the hell of a trippy beat! Got no idea what you singing about but it sounds funny! Nice change in the second part to something poetic! Good start!

there is a certain sound pulsing along that consigns the words to the function of back seat drivers. somtimes thats the best place for them...accessible but not in your face. you gotta turn around and reach for them

And he is away and i can hear it from the off. almost a tongue twuster at the start! love that trippy feel

@sbs

It is super trippy! The title lured me in and gotta love anything with “Jimmy Crack Corn” in it. Had to look up theramin. And since I’m all about musical sound and words as audio, this is super cool!

I was drawn in by the theremin tag and am digging this super trippy groove! The word salad is perfect.
