while i don't know the details behind it, i really feel all the melancholy, wistfulness, and pain of the situation. those light, high notes coming in after "here all alone" - so pretty. every so often i get a Chopin feel from your playing. a lot of emotions conveyed through the instrument in addition to the words and vocal delivery

Hmm slow again makes me think I must have heard you play slow. I like how "...meant to be" leads into "so far from home" so unexpectedly. nice pivot.

Again, this is a terrible feeling, but it’s good to hear that you are expressing those emotions through music—that’s really what it’s for. Beautiful and haunting and you’ve done very well writing and performing this song!

Love the opening verse esp. the line: "Gold and silver rings And pretty things I've left behind" Very nice repeated piano lines in which the melody fits over so nicely.
