Odilon is right mantras are repeated and you talk of mantras in the next line. I like this. It’s going somewhere and I look forward to where it takes you.

This has such a folksy warmth and charm; it was lovely and comfortable to listen to, like sitting by a fireplace in winter, notwithstanding the darkness of the lyrics (and those lyrics do make an interesting contrast to the tone of the music).

Also, the repeated last line of the first stanza worked well in the structure of the song. I don't think you need to choose between the two; just keep them both!
