Summer Is Gone

Liner Notes

This one doesn't count since I wrote it some months ago. I just want something posted here to start with. This song began with an ear worm of the tag with the words "if you don't miss me Molly". I have no idea who Molly is - just a name that stuck.

Lyrics

Hour before the dawn Already at the station I miss those long days Wish they would remain

Wanted you so long Now your memory's fading Summer is gone And soon it will be raining

I wish that I could change the way I feel Stay inside my dreams and make them real I rock to the sway of the train rumbling on Summer is gone Summer is gone

I feel it coming on Hate it when it hits me When I recall those younger days When you would miss me

But I was gone too long You were no longer waiting Now all my summers have gone And the world is raining

Saulius, this is just beautiful. Your voice is so soothing and effortless and your arrangement just right. Super guitar playing! Talk about a deep breath. I was instantly transported to the tropics, soft winds, and ocean air. Just lovely!

this song fills the void left when simon and grfunkle parted ways. you have the talents of them both...lovely high tenor voice and exquisit guitar arrangement. and the lyrics are perfect for the music. i really love this song. it would brighten any playlist.

Thanks Bill. I wish we could have met while you were still up here in the PNW.

Wow, gorgeous guitar and vocal harmonies! This just hits me right in the gut. It’s gotta be the guitar and the vocals in such beautiful harmony that does this to me. I listened twice. Would listen again, but I shall keep going on to listen to more songs. Can’t wait to hear more from you! Happy FAWM!

It's so good to have you back. I'm hoping for you and Marie Turner to do a duet together on something this year. I think your two voices would blend nicely.

Great song the timbre of the guitar suits the fall. The setting on the train is echoed by the little percussion you've got going on.

Thanks so much that you noticed the percussion. It was that rhythm that led to the lyrics.
