Paint It White
Liner Notes
I was listening to Lead Belly and reading about how he tuned his guitars real low (which is about all we know in confidence about his guitar tunings), and I thought about how Beck did that too, and how my guitar was already a whole step down. So I wrote something in the Beckian tradition of trippy conflicting imagery and bluesy riffs.
Lyrics
somebody's shaking my mind a flock of lucky pennies thought to hasten the grind i'll still break out in a run like a glistening dewdrop absconding the sun
you've got me scopin' my lobe as if i'd never before and so i gave it a try i painted it white
somebody breaks in my house i'm bleeding from the elbows when you hit me in the mouth it all simmers down in the boil with the mystic obsessin' over all of the spoils
she got me scopin' my lobe as if i'd never before and so i gave it a try i'll try again tonight
you've got me scopin' my lobe as if i'd never before and so i gave it a try but it was wasting my time when you come back in a week you'll find my house in debris a single flickering light is painted in white

Thank you!! I think that comes with treading Beck-esque territory but like, weird downtuned neo-folksinger stuff kinda calls for it. Glad you dig :]
Really enjoyed the weird lyrics and the kind of driving beat. You hit the bullseye with the Beck reference. Thanks
Any time!
Delicious guitar solo! Also great lyrics. Very vivid and wonderfully strange. I love it!
Thank you very much!!! I keep kinda defaulting to the one guitar solo (major pentatonic, 5-6-1 lick) but I feel like it works for this one especially with the delayed lickage at the end.
Grabbed me from the start. Really like the variety of guitar parts. Catchy riffs and vocals had my toes tapping along with the rhythm.
Thanks a lot!
this came out so good agh!!! the solo is very well done. also always a fan of delay
Thank youuu!!
Man I love every single word. The whistle gets 10 extra points. The geetar sounds great it’s catchy and a solid performance the leads are sick and the vox are cool and a bit dry in the best way like you’re kinda unphased
Thank you!! Totally the vibe I was going for. A mix of like, unphased and "so much shit is going on that I can not express emotion".
Nailed it. Thoroughly and expertly!
Oh, this is fun! The lyrics make very little sense, but that makes it better! I do love that guitar work.
