A Stranger Here Myself
Skirmish: STRANGER (@corinnecurcio)Liner Notes
This was my second attempt with the prompt as the first one really wasn't working!
Lyrics
Don't ask me for direction, dont ask which way to go I can't make a connection, I really do not know I lefr my travel guidebook at home upon the shelf Can't tell you where your eyes should look I'ma stranger here myself
I'm a stranger here myself A stranger in the place I really cannot help you A sad event to face For though you may be lost or found upon a tidal shelf I only say "See you around" I'm a stranger here myself
Don't ask me about cafes, don't ask me about bars I'll look as if I'm in a daze I'll always bear the scars I'm really not acquainted with fairy or with elf My memory is tainted I'm a stranger here myself

Cool take on the prompt. I like the lightness of your song - from your bright cheery uke to your clever and cheeky lyrics. Great skirmish!

OH I love a good uke song. Lovely creativ e and fun written. Super song
I want to go somewhere with a tidal shelf? Do jellyfish keep their treasure maps there?
I like how you used the prompt! Clever! Very catchy! 👌 👏
So many good lines (some already mentioned in the comments). See around-- thank you for the fun song!
This is so clever and fun! Great take on the prompt! If you don't mind: The only line that gave me pause was "I'm blacker than I'm painted" - I'm not acquainted with that expression and not really sure what you mean by it. But I like your song!
Line changed for clarity
I am so glad you came back to this and gave it another try, I adore this song. It's catchy and a lot of fun. You packed so much into such a short song but it never feels crowded and just chugs along once you get started. Nice skirmishing!
Fun ditty full of telling detail. When we are on holiday I am often asked for directions by random tourists, I suppose I should take it as a compliment that I look approachable. But it does get wearying. Next time I will sing them the chorus of this one. 😀
