Too Much Snow

Liner Notes
I'm on the board!! Welcome to my 2026 FAWM and I invite you to head on down to the beach with me to forget about this ridiculous snow. That is if you are not in a wonderfully warm climate. If you are, can I come visit???
I try to start FAWM with a surf-rock song, since one of my first favorite bands as a kid was The Ventures. I find them less stressful and fun and a good way to get rolling. It's a really quick mix which I will come back to. #surf #surf-rock #reverb #goodbyesnow #neglected12string
I used: Harley Benton telecaster Agile electric 12 string Peavey Stereo Chorus Lots of pedals and a Surfybear Reverb Harley Benton P-bass SansAmp Bass Driver DI 1973 Ludwig Hollywood drumkit Tambourine

That was fun. ๐ Think you got the drums mic'd pretty well! ๐
I'm such a great fan of surf rock! You really nailed it! Reminds me of Man or Astro-man?, love it!
As a kid I listened to the Spotnicks a lot. They were sort of the Swedish Ventures. Makes me feel at home...
Oh I love this! Your leads are super catchy and intertwined with the bass. 12 string! Whatever youโre doing with the drums this year is great! I seem to say that every year though. Very nicely done and played. Now I should go watch Endless Summer!
I love the Ventures, and this is a great homage to them. Your drum sound is a joy, the song itself could easily be confused for an actual release from that era, your palm muting/guitar technique on the main melody line is great, and your reverb is fantastic: both icing and cake.
Love the vibe on this, and what a lovely legacy you have!
What an absolute blast... I'm trying to get my ice-crampons on to get to the library and this makes me feel like I'm cruising down Santa Monica boulevard with the hood down with Jack Nicholson in the passenger seat rolling a doobie....... wonderful playing...
Already so much warmer. Love the chorus-y shimmer on that guitar and the drums are perfect too.
surf that snow wave, baby, snowball to the beach :) welcome back and have a good one!
Welcome back. Uuuh this bass is so nice and tight. Your reverb on the low guitar is almost dripping wet. But the drum rhythm in the 2nd verse with the tambourine is sooooo nice. Great selection of sounds and rhythms. Surf on!
Oh brother, that spring reverb drip on the tele is gorgeous! I have a HB telecaster as well and you're making me think I'm not using her to her full potential. This absolutely rips!
Surf's up! And what a wonderfully fleshed out tune! Nicely done.
Classic classy Zecoop Surfing into FAWM track, great opener as always, lovely drippy guitars, as cool as the temperatures outside
Your winter surf tunes are always a delight, John! Must be soooo satisfying to rip these grooves while drowning in snow. Haha. This is super gooey. Lots of great stuff here. Great start!
Stunning. Itโs a masterpiece. Sounds absolutely fully realized, performance is tops, recorded beautifully. Iโm floored by this seriously. I mainly think of FAWM as a way to get rough ideas down and start coming up with new songs. This just has it all in spades!
This was my morning treat to go with my toast before work here in sunny southern Spain. ๐ I grew up in Michigan and I dreamed of "escaping" to a warmer climate for most of my childhood, last year I moved to Costa del Sol. :) Let me know when you and your brother will come to visit!
The melody you play is really fun here, the tones and tempo really set a positive mood and it makes for a great start to my day, and a great start to your FAWM!
This drips!!!! Iโm inspired to use more spring reverb. Great song!
Feels like the theme song to an underwater James Bond movie to me. Pond... James Pond. ๐ธ Big fan of the tambourine! :) Love the sound!!
Nice blast of I-wish-it-was-summer! As always you've served up a heapin' helpin' of surfalicious goodness! I needed that... ;)
It's not FAWM until there's Zecoop surf rock! This one does feel a bit icy, there's a bit of an edge (maybe it's the tambourine adding some sleigh bell energy) I really like it especially the build, cool is the word
Very nice-- and I feel warmer now, which is also nice. :) This strikes me as something that would work great as film soundtrack music.
The reverb on the guitar makes the surf atmosphere. So, surf rock can be a fit for a snowy day, too?
Impeccable tone, very surfy. Can practically see the dune buggies riding off into the sunset.
can we swap a little, darned hot here. sounds like a classic zecoop song to me, surprisingly this is the 3rd surf song i have heard already, you have over the years started a trend i think! very cool as always right on point!
No snow in Oceanside, but I feel you. I've lived in colder climes. Very catchy little number here, excellent groove. Fun way to kick things off!
I've been waiting for this! I actually have a comical visual of you riding a surfboard down a ski slope, wearing a hat and ski mask but board shorts - of course while holding your bass! There's a slight secret agent vibe to your guitar tone settings, too, so maybe you're in the middle of some mischievous plot to get rid of all that snow? What great fun and a joy to listen.
Surfy goodness in the midst of the cold and snow of this glorious February!
Very enjoyable little track, ZeCoop!
Oh Man, that's it! I can see Annette rocking back and forth on her board while the rear-projection of the surf swells behind her!
