This is me doing my best Khruangbin impression. It started off as goofing around ("what if instead of ii-I, I flip it to I-ii?"), and then I made the mistake of saying "Oregon sun" (which incidentally was also a beer brewed by a now-defunct Portland brewery, that I have a T-shirt for), and then the idea was firmly planted and I had to see it through. Apologies to Khruangbin and also Leon Bridges.

A bit of context for the lyrics: my husband and I are celebrating 25 years together in a couple months, and my forever happy place is driving with him to literally anywhere, especially if it's far away. We were both born in Wisconsin but have lived in Portland for 20 years, and now that we're considering moving away, all I wanna do is write nostalgic road trip love songs.

Very smooth, such an easy listen. "Oregon Sun" is an outstanding title, had me clicking to it right away. Love the way the bass played with the drum groove, and how well the vocal phrasing sat in tru pocket. Awesome work!

Laid back, nostalgic, road trip soundtrack 🎯. I’m definitely feeling the gentle warmth of that sun. We all know it’s the same sun everywhere but somehow each place that’s special to us has a different version of it.
