Lyrics

I wish I had a big bass drum I always did admire that sound What I would give for a tripod Feet on the ground

People have words at their fingers People who can say what they feel I try to follow their footsteps To get to what’s real

No words for the things that I see Or if there are I never get them right Instead I’m looking at the world through Every baby satellite

I wish I had a big spool of wire I wish I could plug into the scene Someone out there might Know what I mean

I studied globalized English The translator soon enough breaks Everyone in the world must See the mistakes

No words for the things that I see Or if there are I never get them right Instead I’m looking at the world through Every baby satellite

What I like best is that I am trying to imagine looking through the world through a satellite and you ate allowing me to interpret the meaning of that phrase. Is the baby a satellite or is the satellite just small?

I love the thought of the connection and disconnection and struggling to connect, and still being misunderstood. Language, tone, meaning, all of it is so subjective. Great melody as well!

So many great lines here, but this one really got me: "I wish I had a big spool of wire/I wish I could plug into the scene" Great skirmish!

I've always wished for a big bass drum too. Or some timpanies! You got the words right on this one. I feel detachment and isolation in these lyrics.
