This is the first song in what I'm calling a rock oratorio, as opposed to a rock opera. The subject is the familiar story of David and Goliath, as told in the Bible "1 Samuel 17" and "Josephus - Antiquities of the Jews - Book VI - Chapter IX". The title of the complete work is "40 Days: The Terror of Goliath" and is a part of a much larger project called "The 40 Days Project" which also includes my original rock opera "40 Days: Resurrection to Ascension."

This particular song features music that is somewhat foreboding in nature, and will likely be presented as a sort of overture to the completed piece.
