it's quiet

Lyrics
Guess it doesn’t end with a bang Parachute inflating a soft land Somewhere smooth and alone again So I can tend to my wounds and mend
I’m still holding on to this thread I’m still covered in glitter and sand Couldn’t get the coin to turn up heads Guess my luck ran out instead
Will you send your paper airplanes Drop some wisdom or a prank Will you send over sweet medicines Or leave me staring at the plank
Guess I deserve it in the end For starting up this fucking mess Never know how to stay quiet So I scream so loud and make a wreck
Ahh

I like the gentle laid back nature of the track. Just a gentle 'clack' from a drum rimshot adding percussion every now and then to drive the song again. I like how everything stops now and then. That said, you could totally transform the track with some driving guitars or, as someone else said, some strings. Great vocals too. 😎
Thank you for listening! I’ll see what my bandmates can cook up with it!
What time signature would you say this is in? My brain is too focused on the music so I may need to come back later to even comment on lyrics but everything feels so singable and you KNOW I love yummy dynamics 💖 love your octaves too. This is awesome
It’s in 2/4 and each verse is 7 measures. Yup it’s a weird one haha! I had trouble recording it actually bc I didn’t realize I had written it that way bur once I figured that out it was easier. Bpm 128-130ish I don’t remember.
I agree, this sounds great in the current version. I love your voice.
Eee thank you!
I think this is pretty polished. I think a rush of strings before verse two could add a lot, but very well done. I enjoyed this a lot.
Ooh like cello strings/violin? I do have someone who may be able to help with that!
Oh yeah that would work nice.
I don't know what kind of production feedback you are looking for, but I loved it the way the lofi sounding guitar leads to clarity in vocal and other instruments, building to other voices and clean guitar. I think this is a well-crafted production that really has a nice slow build to a powerful conclusion at around 2:20 going back to the beginning and then building faster again to an even more textured climax with screaming vocals into quiet. Nice work!
