Hey CJ! Nice Write! like the somewhat ominous tone, it's not overt though. The communication, or lack of... the prodding, exploring, get a feeling of tentativeness I like it a lot! BTW fellow bassist here! 4 strings are all you need!!

Thinking of a stranger is someone you haven't gotten to know yet is one thing, but thinking of someone you think you know and now feels like a stranger. That's a really sad thing. Just the words evoke deep emotions.
