Liner Notes
Since I've really got into making music, I've been trying to develop my orchestral music skills....bearing in mind I am a basic guitar & piano player, I've never really been into listening to orchestral stuff....or so I keep telling myself. Then I properly pay attention and realise that a lot of my early years was spent listening to Elton John, whose early work was VERY orchestral. And nowadays, I love the epic orchestral sounds that make up movie soundtracks and Star Trek/Star Wars series.
So I have been trying to get a grip of BBC Symphony orchestra (BBCSO) and watching loads of Guy Mitchelmore videos (a guy who makes a living out of scoring music and does great training YouTube vids too), this track is a result of that work.
Used to make this track: Reaper DAW BBCSO Celli, Violas, Violins, Horns, Flutes & Glockenspiel Heavyocity Damage Soundpaint Taikos and a one of the new 'Free You' patches Spitfire Symphony Orchestra discover (the free version) Berlin free orchestra Native Instruments The Grandeur piano with a massive dollop of 'Space Blender' sound fx on top Ozone 11 for mixing

I love the BBC orchestra pack! This is really cool, the intro is very outer spacey in a cool way. The sections of the song are clearly defined and there’s never a dull moment! This would be really cool to experience live - maybe you can reach out to some friends to make a live recording?
Thanks for your comments. I've never done "live", that would scare the heck out of me. But maybe one day!
I really enjoyed this. You've definitely got an ear for cinematic composition, and you put that list of toys in the liner notes (plenty of very familiar ones) to highly effective use. And Guy's great, isn't he? ALL the enthusiasm!
