Lyrics
the Great Work begins as all things do with the death of the heart a suicide self-immolation in the crucible of grief
the rotting husk left over at the end of days putrefacting before fermenting fomenting the sundered soul from which this new life shall spring
gather up the black bile that river in darkness fresh asphalt on a new moon night
we will need so much more than a heart can carry than a lover can stomach than a body can survive
just about as much as I have
it will hold the weight of years that bends the back far beyond the point of breaking beyond the point of taking any sort of care to cure or render palliation
sink underneath the scanning eyeline blind the panopticon hide it in the dark corners of the heart behind the cobwebs of remorse regret remembering and repeat after me:
I will stake my claim on this rare earth I will take this rot and slime I will make it shine
good work, great pacing, interesting style.
