Well this was a delightfully silly one to write. And timely, as I literally just made banana bread.

You started green No I didn’t pick you from a tree I bought you in a grocery store

Where did you come from? Certainly not Pennsylvania I think you’re from some place Much more warm

And I’m sorry I forgot about you When I stopped making smoothies I left you there to rot and now you’re squishy And making all the other fruit go bad Oh it’s so sad But I don’t wanna throw you out

So now that you’re brown Or more like black let’s be honest I’m gonna make a mash out of you

Cause under your skin There’s still some fruit I can salvage So I’m gonna mix you right in

And I’m not sorry To mingle you with sweetener and flour Just set the timer, takes about an hour Then I let you cool, the perfect snack for school And I’m so glad I didn’t throw you out
