Ritualitea

Liner Notes
Starting a bit late what’s going to be a very frazzled February, I took inspiration from the ritual that is making tea, and busted out a set of lyrics in around an hour and a half.
Lyrics
Scatter the leaves in the steam, like a prayer, Like a potion to carry my wish through the air A pinch to breath easy, a dash to feel peace This scoop for clarity, this one for ease
A trickle, a river, a current, a pour, Directing intention to be something more Palms pressed to porcelain, anchored and warm Soaking in strength to protect us from harm
Steeped in tradition, from faraway lands Soaked in connection, and passed hand to hand Ritual comfort, a moment, a sigh A careful creation as time passes by
A whistle of wakefulness, kettle-bright call To herald the roiling of scalded tea-fall Vessel transforming from bottom to brim From clay cup to choir, humming a hymn
A drizzling of sweetness, stirred round left to right For honey-stick goodness to enter your sights A wheeling of lemon, as bright as the sun Surfing the surface, your day has begun
Steeped in tradition, from faraway lands Soaked in connection, and passed hand to hand Ritual comfort, a moment, a sigh A careful creation as time passes by
Care is packed gently in simple sachets Love is a tip of a teapot away This brew made from earth, and the sea, and the flame Will nurture our spirits and bodies the same
So sit ‘round my table, leave stress by the street Pick out a mug that helps you feel complete We have all the time and we have all the tea And we’ll pause here together where we can just be.
Steeped in tradition, from faraway lands Soaked in connection, and passed hand to hand Ritual comfort, a moment, a sigh A careful creation as time passes by
As a tea drinker myself, I absolutely love this. Favorite lines are "Directing intention to be something more" and "This brew made from earth, and the sea, and the flame Will nurture our spirits and bodies the same". So thoughtful!
