Liner Notes
New song written for my Sunday night weekly show on Feb 1st but posted separately for FAWM (February Album Writing Month) as well. Inspired by the music and lyrics of Sam Phillips whose birthday was Jan 28th.
Lyrics
1057- All Is One ©2024 by Rob Lincoln Capo 1
Am Em D G In the center of the day the sun is rising In the summer, winter, autumn and the spring In the center of the earth there is a stirring Will it be the end or will we begin
Chorus B flat F All is one or all will fall Em C D You don’t need a crystal ball to see Can you hear the cries you keep In the cages you can set them free
In the sky I see the birds and they are laughing But I look around and all are tears today I wonder what they see that is coming Will it be time for change or time to pray
Chorus
I think I hear the sound of justice Breaking from their rusted chains again Do not think it only is just us Open your eyes I am your friend
Chorus

This song is so timely! I wrote a lyric about the little boy Liam and his dad who were just freed from Texas yesterday. The image of the laughing birds versus the human tears is effective. Of course, humans are inflicting pain on the natural world as well. Open your eyes I am your friend. We need more compassion and empathy in the world for sure. We need everyone to come together to fix the messes we're currently in.
Hi Laura! So glad you are FAWMING this year. It's funny that my other song I just posted is explicitly about Liam. This one is more implicit but yes he was on my mind when I wrote it as well.
I hope the sound of justice rings louder, a good lyric and a nice delivery paced to take it all in
