Unparallel

There is no demo for this song.

Liner Notes

I'm not going to tag it in the challenge because "unparallel" has been used in language before (though very rarely).

But this song is for and about my med school best friend. Recording to come when I can mix it (and also not cry when I'm playing it).

Lyrics

You reached out your hand The day we reunited While I had thought you had forgotten 'Cuz I'd want to forget myself too

Mediocre margs and memories Dead horses that we never had the chance to beat Before

Can you sit while I unpack My clothes and all my fears These pants are from a thrift shop But these demons, I've owned for years

We're not so different, you and I With all the noise we keep Inside

You slept next to me While meteors kept striking, I asked how the world keeps spinning You gently smiled, Said "take one hour at a time"

I echo it back to you When your darkness obscures the truth I know I'm doing something right If I'm half as good as you

And if it feels like a mistake I'm always here with extra Grace

It's been two weeks too long Let's meet at our old spot You look so much more at ease When you have no one to please

Let's find all the airport codes Travel times on the toll roads Set our parents up on playdates They'll have each other when we move away

These unparallel lines Will come together Sometime
