I’m patiently waiting for my Keystation 88 MK3 to arrive… It was supposed to come by last week Wednesday, but due to freezing temperatures, it ended up getting delayed by an entire week.

So today I sat down with my wife’s Keystep 37 and decided to record a medley of some of the songs I’ve been writing recently. This is a milestone for me, since I have never been a “performing” musician for an audience. Goals can change over time, and my hope now is to be comfortable playing any of my songs on any piano, with or without my modular effects case. I also would like to host house parties for family and friends, focusing on meaningful connection, enjoying meals together, and having the opportunity for me to play piano-based sets for them.

This is the first in a series I am calling “This Moment” … It’s about capturing a moment in time while merging songs that I have written or am currently still writing. These recordings will involve one piano and whatever effects I assign, with no effects being a viable option at some point.
