Lyrics
It’s funny how they clothe themselves Try to avoid looking like everyone else But they all shop in the same stores Wear the same shoes the self-same belts as each other
Colours differentiate the tribes Saturdays are somehow special days Spectacle sports quickly slide into chaos Windows are smashed, encounters on horseback
It’s funny how they show no remorse Go back to their day jobs when Monday comes round On the terraces in t-shirts and shorts Bonding together over love of their sports
It’s funny how they clothe themselves The colours differentiate the tribes They meet on Saturdays and sometimes midweek Always entertaining, what they seek

I live in a community where our sports team is a very big part of the culture here. And despite my very best efforts to be a" free thinker" every weekend I take the time to put on my green and whites and cheer on the local team. To just become part of the mob .
I don't know. I sometimes think it is part of The human condition and I do like to be part of a crowd. There's a new emotion or different emotions. At least that can only be felt when you're in a group of very large people. I can say this as a fan of Canadian football. Nothing in my life quite. Gives me the feeling as watching my team score the winning touchdown in the playoffs to go to the final.
Great how you can write two shorter songs in the time allotted! I like this one better than the other one lyrically, but the other has a more meditative tone with the effects on the guitar. This reminds me of sixties songs. I enjoyed it!
really good track. Pure sentiments in the words, spot on. just need less reverb and cut some high eq and deesser as is very sibilant. Love it anyway!
Love your relaxed approach in this song. Vivid storytelling in the lyrics.
