the easel and the muse

Liner Notes
woke up this morning thinking about entropy, & decided that my #firstfruits for this songwriting sprint would be left up to chance. so i found my sets of dice & used them in conjunction with the fawm playing cards and the muse to force my hand in a particular direction.
the muse ended up landing on "weasel what untitled the nose", which i extrapolated into "the weasel and the moose", which in turn led me to "the easel and the muse", & the song just wrote itself from there.
i recorded both the #piano and the vocal in one take each, because in an era where AI is flooding the market w/ polished-sounding slop & crowding out legitimate artists, i figured i'd better make my music as human as possible, warts and all!
Lyrics
looking out to nature, the weasel and the moose basking in the sunshine, and wandering in tune following the leader, you chase a red balloon there in lies the answer, the easel and the muse
walking to the canvas, with fear inside my bag searching for the answers in (the) air my breath will drag wind blows throw my hair now with the rhythm and the blues don't take it for granted, the easel and the muse
sip upon the coffee, the jitters soon arise marry it to worries that collect inside my mind lord knows how i'm sleepin, dreams are my demise switchin back to loose-leaf, and i'll leave those fears behind
look into the valley, the robots have arrived plundering the canon, as if they've dumpster-dived (they'll) imitate our likeness, and put us all to use but there ain't no replacing, the easel and the muse

What a legend. Sounds so good. Love the piano love the vox. Great performance that got me tappin along and is pairing well with my afternoon tea and sativa
Loved every bit of scatting throughout this! Soulful and sunny performance. I'm just sitting here smiling like a fool. Very solid first fruits.
Great to see you back! This is such a fun tune! I love the details you pull here, they feel simultaneously unexpected and work well together. I love the weasel/moose and easel/muse combo - so clever!
love it!! also really great that it's a one-take session.
This is so charming! I absolutely love those jazzy chords, and the ad-libbed vocal bits made me smile. It reminded me at parts of "here comes the sun" and other songs by Bill Wurtz. Great way to kick off the sprint!
