This song grew out of a memory that never completely fades.

Several years ago I underwent triple bypass surgery. Like anyone who's been through a serious medical crisis, I occasionally stop in the middle of an ordinary day and remember just how close I came to not having another sunrise at all. That realization has a way of changing the color of everyday life. Coffee tastes a little better. A quiet morning feels like a gift. Even an ordinary heartbeat becomes something worth celebrating.

Life doesn't always promise tomorrow.

Today is enough.
