Liner Notes

Inspired by the Star Trek TNG epsiode "Chain Of Command", which, if you've seen that episode, I probably didn't need to tell you :). If you haven't seen it, perhaps you can still work out what it's all about... that episode had a bit of a nod to George Orwell's 1984 and this is meant to as well.

Anyway, Some #ukulele #filk with the jangly 8 string baritone.

Lyrics

When you're questioning your senses and your eyes When you wonder if you see through their disguise They look into your mind They say you're left behind

And they beg you to repeat what they are desperate to hear They tell you that the truth might not be all that it appears But take notice as they try to make you fall There are four lights on the wall

Stay strong, stay free and stay alive All you have to tell them is that two and two is five But take notice as they try to make you fall There are four lights on the wall

When you think that you've been lured into a trap And there's nothing left to feed on but the scraps Get off your knees What do you see?

And you wait eleven hours for the telephone to ring With demands and obligations from the one who would be king But remember when you're answering the call There are four lights on the wall

Stay strong, stay free and stay alive All you have to tell them is that two and two is five But remember when you're answering the call There are four lights on the wall Four lights on the wall

Stay strong, stay free and stay alive All you have to tell them is that two and two is five But you know that you have to stand up tall There are four lights on the wall

Stay strong, stay free and stay alive All you have to tell them is that two and two is five But through the pain you rise above it all There are four lights on the wall Four lights on the wall

I never saw that episode, but have seen enough memes referencing it. But even without the context it still makes sense in itself. And I love the music.

Clever! And I remember that episode. I'm loving that baritone uke too. It's a great accompaniment for the song.
