If You See Me Celebrating

Liner Notes
@blair_horton was over for the US Independence Day holiday, and so we decided to write a song!
This originally started with the "Celebration" skirmish prompt, but we took an extra hour to record it, so it's a "regular" song now, I guess!
Inspired by the social media template where progressive content creators say "If you see me celebrating on the Fourth of July, I am actually celebrating [insert actually cool things bout the USA]"

Lyrics
IF YOU SEE ME CELEBRATING
VERSE 1 E D A E In the land of free, the land of dreams We made burgers with cheese and polio vaccines We wrote the Bill of Rights, let Pride flags fly, Worked out the New Deal
CHORUS E A B A If you see me celebrating, Sweet tea and apple pie Just know I’m celebrating, Like a firework across the sky
VERSE 2 E D A E From the Hills of Appalachia to Harlem’s tiny rooms Came bluegrass and jazz music, purely American tunes In the low country of Louisiana, there came the blues And as the music all burst forth, we also got soul food
CHORUS
BRIDGE C#m B/D# A/E B/F# What could be more American Than tearing apart the darkest night? Whether punching Nazis back in World War 2 Or continuing to fight for our rights?
CHORUS

Very cool and I completely Agree with the lyrics!
Nice to hear some celebration of the good things! And encouraging the fight to keep them. Lots of optimism here.
Love the temperament of this song. It's a nice collab of things, and carries a message that matters more than some may realize.
An impromptu collab...nice. And it work so well and feels like everyone is have a blast...
Aw i love this! great interpretation of the celebration prompt, lots of history and contributions worth celebrating!
Cool Collab. These days i'm a little leery of supposedly Patriotic tunes, but I really like the lyrics here. Yes, we must still fight for our rights!
A lovely and upbeat celebration of something worth celebrating...MUSIC!
