It's almost half a century since I last played one with a bow, so apologies for being a bit rusty on this one. Quite quickly lashed together with the intention of creating a brooding atmosphere. You are on a good roll! Sets the scene quickly with that ominous feel, so clean and clear. Darn good job with the bow as well! Very classy stuff

Brooding, with a hint of steampunk … last time I played double bass was in the school orchestra, 1981 maybe, yeah I do miss it actually, the physicality and resonance. More arco, please!

Ooh, this hits right at the pit of the stomach where you can feel dread building up. That flute is just gorgeous.

Paul - I’m so glad you’re here. I like how the piece is filled with suspense, but it’s not the kind that feels like it will end in a jump scare. It made me think about all the suspense of every day life. All the not knowing. You turn that into something more exquisite than exasperating.
