Teens Don’t Care
Skirmish: NIGHTMARE (@corinnecurcio)Liner Notes
Skirmish prompt: nightmare
Of course, teens DO care about a lot of things. But sometimes they don’t, or they seem like they don’t, or they want you to think they don’t.
I just wanted to have some fun and write something short and punky.
Lyrics
What to wear? Teens don’t care! Please don’t swear Teens don’t care! Get a job and comb your hair Teens. Don’t. Care.
It’s a nightmare Life’s not fair Teens don’t care! Teens don’t care!
Did you glare? Teens don’t care! Germ warfare? Teens don’t care! Go ahead, pollute the air: Teens. Don’t. Care.
It’s a nightmare Life’s not fair Teens don’t care! Teens don’t care!

Ahah ! I am a teacher so those lyrics really feel relatable ! It seems like they don't care indeed, although sometimes they do ! I especially like the first verse with "don't swear" and "comb your hair", I can picture a kid on their way to school and the parents giving them advice they won't follow !
Great job doing a lot with a little here! Seconding Alyx here, you can feel the rhythm built into these lyrics.
There's such a driving rhythm to this lyric! This is excellent.
That's a terrific hook/chorus/whatever you call it. So many excellent phrases here and pretty relatable to many I think. Great job on the prompt. Makes me want to pogo in the bedroom!
I can see this as a tongue-and-cheek pop-up book, for the kid who is already post-post-apathetic detachment. Or the teen on whom the irony is lost. I think some of them would welcome this pithy motto!
