Waking nightmare

Skirmish: NIGHTMARE (@corinnecurcio)Liner Notes
Lyrics
Nightmares come in all shapes and sizes The worst come when you’re awake Or at least you think you’re awake But you’re not quite sure, Something seems to be strange
The people are all normal, they’ve got letter boxes for eyes And they look at you with yearning To determine the depths of your lies And they hover inches above the ground That’s where they say the truth will be found
And you want to call their bluff But you’re afraid of just what they will do So you shamble along, singing comforting songs to yourself And you hope that the feelings will pass And the damage itself will not last
It’s a waking nightmare

This captures that liminal "am I awake or not" feeling really gorgeously! More excellent skirmishing!
This is a great take, too! I love the pause that happens early on and again at “damage itself” — it’s great for suspense. A favorite line:
The people are all normal, they’ve got letter boxes for eyes
Spooky image, as is the hovering. And shamble is a good word. Cool stuff.
Oh this is very cool indeed
