I don't know what I will accomplish in this short July sprint. We have so few days and I have cataract surgery during writing and recording time. Hopefully I can get something done, but I'm not aiming at a particular number.
My best hope is to see some of my old friends here and maybe find some new ones.
Starting in May 2025, I began releasing songs to the streaming services. Since I have so many completed songs on my hard drive, I've been adhering to a release schedule of one song every two weeks.
For those who care about technical stuff, I use a UA Volt 476P interface to get sound in and out of my Studio One 7 DAW. My main microphones are both from Røde, an NT1A for vocals and an NT3 for the acoustic guitar.
My main songwriting guitar is a Stonebridge G22CR. My play-out-in-public guitar is a modified 1966 Telecaster. Most of the time when you hear bass, it will be my 1969 Fender Precision bass, purchased brand new with a $440 bank loan. When I want a different bass sound, I have a handful of virtual basses that may come into play during FAWM.
All virtual instruments are input with an Arturia KeyLab 49 Essential. It's better than my ability to play it.
Best wishes to all participants. There's music to be made!

Nice to see you Paul! Enjoy this short sprint!
Hello Paul. Thank you for your message. I'm sure you wouldn't be able to resist creating new songs. Your work is always amazing. Have a great time!
Hey Paul - nice to see you! I am on the other side of cataract surgery and it honestly was life changing for me. Wishing you all the best!
Hi Susan - Thanks for reaching out. My right eye was done on Monday, almost two weeks ago. It was easier than my nerves predicted, so I'm feeling more confident going for round two. I'm just glad I don't have three eyes! Too many drops!
Good to see you here at the starting line, Paul. Looking forward to hearing some new songs.
Hi Paul! Good to see you, and inspiring to read about how you're releasing a song every two weeks (speaking as someone currently buried under a massive backlog of unreleased music). I'm looking forward to hearing what you come up with!
Sounds like it's time to turn some of your collection loose! Have you selected a company to get your songs to the streaming world?
I've been on CDBaby for 20 years or so, and haven't had occasion to change horses yet. It's more a matter of just making myself do it, because there's always stuff I could tweak to make it better, you know?
Yup! The battle between perfection and completion.
Have a speedy recovery, Paul... and maybe you'll knock out a song or two yet!
Speedy recovery Paul. All good on the Rock...rock on!
Yes!!! Please and thank you!!!
