Kia ora friends and enemies! I'm Rose, I'm from New Zealand, and I have been songwriting for... decades. When I first started FAWMing back in the day, I posted as Rose Deschamps, but these days I am more widely known by my musical comedy persona Troubadette, who is having a lovely time running around New Zealand singing silly songs and (kind of) making a living doing it!

I am 1000% sure I would not have the comedy career I do today without the songwriting skills I've gained from being part of the FAWM community. Whether you've been watching me do weird stuff from day dot or you're just recently on board, thank you - I'm stupidly, ridiculously grateful <3

FAWM 2026 predictions: Cautiously optimistic! In recent years, I've had to juggle FAWM with the Fringe Festival season and have been wildly distracted by putting on comedy shows. However, I've already kicked off this year by writing an original musical with a group of teenage drama students - I know the songwriting mojo is with me! We'll see how the juggling goes!
