Lock-In
by @gordon
Lyrics
Another blanket of snow Nowhere left to go Empty streets, immobile cars Refuge sought in dives and bars
Another before the last train leaves Beats standing on the platform alone Visions forming of a new tomorrow New found friends, drowning sorrows
Did you see what he did today? Unbelievable what he gets away with There’s always someone else to blame Every time you feel no shame
Howling wind rattles the door Muffled noises sound outside Busses without passengers Trudging ever onwards
Another blanket of snow Nowhere left to go Empty streets, nothing moving Refuge sought in dives and bars Til tomorrow Pull up a chair

This makes me feel good about being at home with central and all my creature comforts. Does feel very much like all hope is lost, so better strap in.
So, I'm going out on a limb here a bit, cos you know what I like and what I don't, but would I be allowed to say I get hints of Lou Reed, Tom Waits, and maybe even a bit of (shudders) Dylan, in this? The dragged-out, almost talky bits really suit the vibe of the words.
It sounds lost and locked up.

This feels gritty and raw, I love it. Could easily put myself in this picture, the images of public transportation in a run down city in the snow, no one but me and some other lonely folks at the dive bar with no where to go… I’ve been here before and you painted it very well.
The music goes very well with the lyrics and you have a great tone of voice for this style
Great work, enjoyed this.
