Liner Notes

First song written and I’m really pleased with it. My voice is broken from a recent cold so I’ve had to sing in a lower register but it has taken me out of my comfort zone and is a bit of a different sound as a result. I’ve managed to get a really nice mix despite not doing too much with it.

You were so specific, And you were always mean. You pushed aside my theories, Like food upon your plate, The night lights shine and glisten, And dance across your face.

The untouched ground after overnight rainfall suggests a fresh start for the world, The sunlight arrives and boils away water which adds to the grey in the clouds, The tears in your eyes collect at the corners ‘til the weight of them force you to cry, And I don’t know why you can’t glisten…. Like the sky.

You say what you want, And you say what you please, You talk of my submission, And weaknesses in me, And a smile that started sadly, Is now bristling with glee, Your pleasure may be guilty, But it won’t stop your sleep.

And you were so prolific, Like nothing I’d ever seen, Round and round in circles, All the more for me, And the night lights shine and glisten, Oh what a sight to see!

This is my favorite song so far this year. Beautiful. You manage to put so much emotion into your singing it brings tears to my eyes. Well crafted guitars and lyrics. Congratulations... and thanks. 🙏

If you hadn't said that this wasn't your comfort zone, I would have just assumed this was register was your bread n butter! Definitely one of my favorites so far from the year; absolutely love your voice and the emotional resonance from your lyrics man.

This is hauntingly beautiful. Having not heard your music before, this sounds like it's perfectly natural for you to be singing in this register. I listened a few times to really catch as much as I could, very nice work.

The tension and dissonance throughout that underlying chord progression is gorgeous. Struck by “You pushed aside my theories / Like food upon your plate.” Lower voice register works well here!

Haunting playing and lovely voice. I love your skillful use of repetition, it's hard to do well and executed perfectly here. Your lyricism is ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT but I worry sometimes you over tell a little bit, which strangely enough detracts from the impact to me.

Is such an incredible line, but I wonder if there's a way to describe less literally?

"The Sunlight arrives and, as always, is fleeting, in the end it adds grey to the clouds"

I love it! And if your voice is different from usual, it works great for the track. The recurring "night lights" in the lyrics are cool.

Ooh. Welcome back sir! This is excellent. I really like the lower register, reminds me a bit of some of Mumford's solo stuff. Such a beautiful lyric and melody. The little paused vocal breaks into the next section create great tension. The guitars and bass sound really rich and full.

Love the sound you always get on your productions. Sounds so deep and rich, upfront but not in your face. Song wise, moody, complex and riveting. Your twiddling is quality and the tone of your voice enviable. Excellent work!

yeah i know that feeling, but its worked for you and the vocal depth suits the song! Really enjoyed the song , part way through the lyrics really hit me and i re read them, they are really excellent
