Widerstand / Resistance

Liner Notes
This year, too, I have no choice but to begin FAWM with a song about resistance. This one is dedicated with gratitude to all the brave people in Minneapolis and elsewhere in the US, who show us what we all need to learn: to protect our community and to stand up against evil. Here in Germany the neo-Nazis are grasping for power and we, too, need to resist.
Lyrics
..................................................................................................
The fascists are showing their faces openly, the masks they wore have fallen. The oppressors' plan is coming to light. And make no mistake: it applies to all of us, not just to those who fled here because famine and war threaten them. Those who think and act humanely are despised, those who ensure law and order are disempowered.
If we are not willing to resist, the country will burn, the country will burn. If we are not willing to resist, the country will burn, the country will burn, our country will burn.
So let us resist and walk tall, no longer bowing to violence and hatred. We want to face the danger head-on, fight against the atrocities and bear witness. Those who remain silent agree, those who hide stay small. But we are many, we are not alone. Those who think and act humanely set an example, those who attack law and order must now give way.
For if we are willing to resist, the country will flourish, the country will flourish, if we are willing to resist, the country will flourish, the country will flourish, yes, if we are willing to resist the country will flourish, the country will flourish, yes, if we are all willing to resist the country will flourish, the country will flourish, our country will flourish.

Wonderful song and sentiment. Yes, solidarity with Minneapolis, LA, Chicago, andf all the other places being invaded by ICE! Your songs and anthems always imspire me, as I am sure they do with others as well! Keep on singing with that lovely voice and wise words!
Gorgeous song. Solidarity from Minneapolis ❤️
Danke dir, solche Lieder sind so wichtig geworden! Super schöner Refrain!
it's a shame that songs like this are more needed then ever. Thanks for this powerful reminder to us all. Great as always.
Great! If you know it or not: You became an important voice for songs like this - and they are needed. Nowadays more than ever. You encourage me, you encourage all of us. This short but touching song is something like the best possible FAWM start in times like these.
Heardtfelt and beautiful. Brought a tear to my and had me singing along by the end (albeit with terrible pronunciation, but I know you'd forgive me for that)
I like how the song moves from dire threat to hopeful response.
(It's great to hear your voice and guitar again!)
