I used the skirmish as a prompt, it may have taken a bit more than an hour to write but not much. I had this idea for the piano so I took it a bit further! Weeeee my first!
Lyrics
F# The first page is empty E Waiting to be filled B Wild anticipation F# To see what we will build
C#m Sometimes its dark C#m Sometimes its scary D#m Sometimes we hurt D#m Sometimes we just want to let go
B Together we can win F# Together we can heal E Let go of what has been F# Plant a fertile field B Lets grow something new F# Fragile tender bloom E Sunshine overdue for this F# B World with lots of room
F# I’m holding up the light E I hope that you can see B We have to work together F# When we disagree
B We can win D#m We can heal E F# Lets grow something new

thank you!!
Beautiful melody! Love the descending call and response motif. The song feels very expansive and bucolic with such a sparse arrangement.
thank you!!!
So hopeful! Lots of images I love, but particularly the idea of sunshine being overdue resonates with me. We've had a stormy, overcast winter and the last three days of sun have been soaked up gratefully. I really like the descending motif as well, offsetting the leaps in the vocals.
thank you and so good to see you !!
What a beautiful, gentle melody - perfect for these lyrics!
thank you !!!
I wanted to write more but I'm on call teaching English on an app right now and somebody called me right when I was trying to finish this comment. The piano fits so perfectly and I love how it mirrors the vocal melody. Just a really beautiful synergy and I love how simple it is. I wouldn't want anything added it's so... I know I said the word already but gentle. Just so gentle in the way that it is instilling some hope.
This feels like a lullaby of hope, beautiful. Love the shifts in key (I think?) and the echoing of the melody in the piano piece. Nicely done!
