Boy howdy, did February just creep right on up.
Probably will not be using voice memos the rest of the month, but this feels like a throwback.
Lyrics
So I will be the tree Falling silently Been cutting off my limbs With no one noticing
I thought it was a skill Saw it in my bloodline Bending like boughs to your wind Cold snapping up my spine
I think I’m still asleep Got handfuls of your teeth Cash in for some self worth Am I smiling?
I thought it was a skill Saw it in my bloodline Bending like boughs to your wind Cold snapping up my spine
Don’t wanna be in the way Carve a path out of me Fighting weeds since you last passed Over or outgrowing
I thought it was a skill Saw it in my bloodline Bending like boughs to your wind Cold snapping up my spine
Made me feel my spine

Being a long time fan, any opinion I have is going to be tainted with well deserved bias. 3rd verse is equally brutal and vulnerable.
I love how this song just creates such a wistful, distinct atmosphere. Beautiful vocals and introspective lyrics!
haunting and beautiful
Love the vocal melody, and clear tone. Lyrics are very relatable, and perfect for a Virginia winter.
"bending like boughs to your wind" wow, so good!
Beautiful voice, and I love the dynamic guitar playing. Nice work!
Like this. It has a cool 90s indie / alternative vibe to it.
This is great, your voice is this beautiful blend of soft and strong! I love this driving riff too
Head nodding in rhythm immediately with the guitar riff. Nice alt tuning and super-memorable riff. The melody and your vocal approach are the perfect contrast to the darker riff. Great performance!
I love this guitar part and how it changes between the verses and the choruses. The way you’re mixing nature-based ideas in the verses and body-based images like the spine is really cool!
I love the guitar riff so much and how your voice goes up at the very end of “spine” in the choruses! “Don’t wanna be in the way, carve a path out of me.” Is such a killer line too.
I like the melody and the vocal dynamics. Guitar playing is very soothing. The lyrics carry a weight with graphic hints of a story that add up to intrigue.
Right away the guitar led me in. Great playing! Great voice, too, it fits the vibe perfectly.
Good luck with FAWM!
I love how gentle, balanced, and dynamic your rhythm and percussion is! Lovely chord progression as well! And that falsetto is falsettoing!
