Lyrics
G Bm Up from the wreckage C D I’m breathing again Cracked under pressure Let the healing begin
C D Can you imagine G C Flowers turned to fists C D How could it happen? D G ….Well just like this
Took you for granted You can’t be replaced Like a loser I folded Left without a trace
When did it happen? Flowers turned to fists I know you’re one a million
CH: C D I------- don’t want to change you G C How do you want to live? C D I------ can’t re-arrange you G C Got only one heart to give C D You know we’re one in a million
It won’t be so simple Fallen too far
It’s time for a comeback Let’s show them who we are
It would be tragic To end it all like this
We know we’re one a million
CH: I--- don’t want to change you How do you want to live? I--- can’t re-arrange you Got only one heart to give
You know we’re one in a million - E/A You know we’re one in a million - C/D
Up from the wreckage I’m breathing again
Crushed under pressure Let the healing begin
I can’t imagine Flowers turned to fists And when you’re one in a million You just can’t miss

Great job on this. What mic are you using? If it's something like a Blue Dragonfly it sounds like it could be maxed out and then getting double amped at the interface. Happy to help you solve the distortion if you want, unless it's an aesthetic choice and then go for it! Great chorus, great writing, great singing!
Love the title. Great story themes. Enjoyed the performance. Soothing vocals. Some catchy hooks in there. Nice work.
Great romantic comeback song, would have the audience cheering you on.
Wow, this is a great song! Love your cord voicings and guitar work. The vocal is clean and delivered so honestly. Very catchy in a good way.
O hell ya! Got a bit of a Colin hay vibe. The performance is great. If you’re looking for critique, your clipping out a bit maybe just move the mic back a little bit but I think it sounds great! I like punk rock so clipping is an aesthetic in my opinion so ya…beautiful tune with an aces performance! Welcome to FAWM it’s a magical place full of ideas and possibilities collaborations or at the very least inspiration. Cheers!
i like the line 'flowers turned to fists'. that stands out as an awesome image. reminds me of something that would be on an awesome montage in a tv show of golden or humourous moments. i like the rawness of the demo, its got a good feel. i like the sentiment too
Good job.
What a great opener! Wonderful one-take performance. I'm sure you will enjoy FAWM. Nice one!
Very very nice progressions along with fantastic lyrics. I really enjoyed this tune and you remind me of Bruce Cockburn on this, and he’s one of my all-time favorites! Beautiful catchy tune. I dig it!
The chorus. The chorus speaks to me. I love this line: "flowers turned to fists". I like the feel of this; whatever method you used, to achieve the lo-fi effect. This is a great encouragement. Times are difficult, but healing can happen. Nicely done here.
What a great song! Your playing and singing are wonderful. I love the lyrics, the pauses, and the chorus. Great song structure.
The recording is distorting even though it sounds like you are singing and playing quietly. Not sure what your setup is but it sounds like you need more gain from the microphone and less going into the recorder. I had this problem and I got a cloud lifter for my mic (an inline preamp) and it solved my gain problems.
Thanks for the technical tips. I'll definitely tune up my rig with your advice in mind.
captures that post breakup feeling perfectly and in one take! impressive!
