Rusty Statue of Limitations

Skirmish: Statue of Limitations (@atornberg)Liner Notes
I actually don't feel this way about myself very often lately. But this #skirmish helped me to explore some of that negative self image.
Lyrics
Libraries of books You can read to help improve A whole industry Designed to make you move
But habits have their limits can't get all the answers from Brown I could spend my days journalling All the ways I let me down
A monument of impairment Built on a foundation of frustration Inscribed on the plaque All of the talents that I lack A rusty statue of limitations
I'll never swim the English channel Or understand the buttons on a nuclear plant’s control panel I could never fix a modern car Or run a successful country bar
A monument of impairment Built on a foundation of frustration Inscribed on the plaque All of the talents that I lack A rusty statue of limitations
I could watch a video Or learn from a master But hiring someone else is just much faster I could be annoyed But there's some things I should avoid
A monument of impairment Built on a foundation of frustration Inscribed on the plaque All of the talents that I lack A rusty statue of limitations

Very clever lyrics. That is a cool chorus too. Yahoo, a Kazoo! Cheers
Oh man, love this
Such a relatable song, the chorus feels so open and honest. This is a great use of the prompt, really nice skirmishing!
Great lyrics here, I loved the line 'All the ways I let me down' I was sorry it wasn't in the song more. This is an excellently constructed song in the short time available. 😄
So great -- "I could watch a video/Or learn from a master/But hiring someone else is just much faster" made me laugh out loud, but the whole thing feels honest and real, and I identify with the whole thing.
"A monument of impairment built on a foundation of frustration." Man i love that lyric!
These lyrics are so relatable, and I'm always here for kazoos :) What a great skirmish!
"Inscribed on a plaque, all of the talents that I lack" is great couple to sum up this song, and the downbeat country vibe really suits it. But it's a difficult thing to examine your (self perceived) faults, so I hope you cut yourself some slack and write something positive about yourself to counterbalance this one. And your kazoo playing is excellent!
Thank you! I do need a self-affirming song too!
We just met... But you are awesome. I sure relate to the sentiment throughout.
I love this! Great chorus and the phrasing is dead on. The examples work well and are not too overwhelming leading to the bridge of solutions. Great work!
I love the line "I could spend my days journalling All the ways I let me down" The lyrics are very relatable and well sung!
