Liner Notes

#jaunty #short #poprock I own a few guitars. Sometimes I think I should paint them sitting next to a bowl of fruit, because I don't play them very often :)

Lyrics

Oh no no no no…

Should’ve guessed it Love’s not in the air But you never know what the market bears Till you test it Dip a toe get wet Now I think I know what the market bears

Lightning in a jar? More like still life with guitar Everywhere there’s love I never get that far I’m not facetious Everywhere there’s love I never get that far I really mean it

Love’s not in the air But you never know what the market bears Till you test it Dip a toe get wet Now I think I know what the market bears

Toller Song mit Ausdrucksvollem Gesang! Schöne Arbeit.

Guitars are a bugger to paint, too many twiddly bits and all those strings. Presumably FAWM means they get an airing, and so they can’t be too mad at you just now. And they sound lovely here. Love the lightness of touch throughout, and the ‘I’m not facetious / I really mean it’ lines are particularly awesome. Played this several times (seems rude not too with a one minute song) and it quietly grew on me with each listen.

A guitar loves to be played. Show that instrument some love.

Something about the rhyme scheme in the first verse drew my interest. Very cool.

Love that unexpected chord sequence / melody on the still life with guitar section that never recurs, always great when a song has one unusual bit that demands a re-listen immediately! I bet you know how to market bears, too (they basically sell themselves in a post-Paddington world to be fair)

I love your style so much! It's truly unique—your voice and your amazing timing!

The lyrics sound like a soliloquy or an inner dialogue between a timid and a hopeful part of you.

Beautiful! Really enjoyed this!

Sweet! You packed a great message into a minute eleven. Plenty of breadth between verse and chorus, and an answer at the end.

“Still life with guitar” - love it. I have a couple guitars in my studio all zipped up. Don’t even pretend to play them anymore. This was great!
