Liner Notes

This song is about being exhausted with work and life and trying to be the best you can and a good parent, desperately wanting things to get easier, but being stuck in the present. One of the last lines in here was from a day where I was evidently exhausted and hanging on by a thread, and my then four year old daughter turned to me and said "don't worry, one day we'll figure it out!"

I normally write very minimal lyrics, this one is by far my "wordiest" song.

This is from a selection of songs I'm in the midst of recording for a granted album project that is "due" at the end of March so it's a perfect time to discuss, put the polish on, etc. This track will be getting "proper drums" and mixing in March.

Lyrics

VERSE I can’t take it anymore Something’s got to give But I'll be back for more What a way to live

They messed up my brain Then they called me insane And now the water runs red, But my hands got clean So I’d do it all again

1/2 CHORUS If it didn’t matter It doesn’t matter anymore

VERSE These years make me older But no wiser it seems I take a look in the mirror Failed plans look back at me

The things I’ve seen The songs I’ve sang The dreams I’ve dreamed and The man I am versus The man I could’ve should've been

1/2 CHORUS What does it matter? It doesn’t matter anymore

VERSE Some things last forever But forever’s just a moment Now it's now or never to Get yourself together back together for the win

All love is cheating Friendship is fleeting We’re all just fading away But hey

CHORUS It doesn’t matter anymore
It doesn't matter anymore It doesn’t matter anymore
It doesn't matter anymore

VERSE/OUTRO

Good things take time One day we’ll figure it out What’s the matter, baby?

The lyrics speak to me. Im not s parent but I really feel the weight if work vs hobbies and wish it was the other way round. Guitar and voice sound brilliant

I love the voicing of the chords, lovely progression. It nicely rolls around and around. When the lead electric comes in it feels so right. great tune!

Thank you again Daniel!

The layers of guitar with your voice is very effective. You really get the sense of the emotion in the song. And we've certainly all felt like this, so its really relatable. The outro is a great resolution. There's no truth, like the truth spoken by young children.

You've got a pleasant voice! Love the guitar work in this as well. Your whole second verse is rife with some great lines, I particularly enjoyed your phrasing of "The man I am versus the man I could've should've been".

I like how you have your chorus' structured. They're short and sweet and set you up for the final extended one. Love how hopeful this seems despite the fatigue and the longing.

Cheers from Canada, I look forward to the rest of your work this month!
