#acousticonetake #singersongwriter #personwithpiano #trauma This song, credit where credit is due. Was inspired by both of @ericdistad first songs. I had been feeling stuck on the songwriting front, nothing was flowing, nothing was in progress. I know it's early in FAWM, but that's unusual for me and I didn't like it. So I followed Eric's example and asked myself for the most pressing question, and allowed myself to go dark if that's what was needed. This is what came out. It's about boundaries and what happens to your ability to ask for help when you grew up internalizing your needs as burdens on your parents. It's rough because this was recorded less than an hour after getting up and the song came to be in its entirety in about 40 minutes. That's FAWM for you, I guess.

Lyrics

Where do I go From here It's been so many Lonely years

I just got good At saying goodbye Got used to the quiet Now I'm wondering why I lie awake at night

Where do I go From here It's been so many Lonely years

I became fine With being alone No salty demands And no extra handholds But I'm so damn cold

Where do I go From here It's been so many Lonely years

Yeah, Where do I go From here It's been so many Lonely years

There are friends all around But I don't dare reach out Got my feet on the ground I won't be hands held out

Where do I go From here It's been so many Lonely years

This is really beautiful - I really like the way you hold the words for so long and the piano accompaniment is perfect for the words.

Yes, that‘s FAWM to me! A rough recording for sure but full off energy … yes, and sadness. I can relate to a lot in your vulnerable lyrics! Thanks for your honesty! The piano has something comforting to me.

Thank you. I'm glad the energy came through. It's hard to tell sometimes when I still have fog brain.
