Finished this a couple days back in anticipation - and wow, I finished something. I have not written a song in ages, the. all of a sudden three pop into my head.

Lyrically, this one was actually meant to be a bit deeper - well there is a deeper meaning, like I haven't achieved ANYTHING in 60 years. Friends I played it to are satisfied that it's about me buying coffee. So let's leave it at that.

Guitar in the outro is a tad ratty, but I couldn't manage another take. Later.

Oh yup Joy division for sure (right down to the claps) and that it a high compliment from me. To be honest i like everything about this song, would be on my playlist!

your vocals remind me of john cale, for whom i have considerable affection and admiration. i an understand why your friends think ir is just about you buying coffee...because it is, isnt it? and what a feeble life it is when that is all you will be remembered for.

Your production is so crisp and clear and open, wonderful. I’m getting hints of REM with Joy Division flavours thrown in and the title really resonates with me today. Reminds me of a Dilbert cartoon where he says he spent all day writing one paragraph — through it’s really only a sentence — and it probably needs a verb to be a sentence …. you’ve achieved a lot here, congrats.
