I'm working on building skills in lots of areas of writing. For this song, I drew four cards from the Phantomwise Tarot by Erin Morgenstern. They were: The Nine of Pentacles The Nine of Wands The Three of Wands The Queen of Pentacles For each card I wrote eight lines of lyrics that encapsulated the way I felt about them. I then rearranged them into a song. At the end, I have a piece that epitomizes what FAWM is to me. It's work, it's play, it's effort with the promise of accomplishments at the end, and joy and exploration along the way. Musically, I really enjoyed playing this in a kind of through composed meandering on G minor and D minor on the piano and using different octaves to contrast the various moods. I'm loving playing around in my low range, so I stayed there to build the energy that I want to carry me through FAWM.
