@tarahenton's excellent Skirmish prompt:
Choose a movie title. 🎬 Don't overthink it... the first title that pops into your head is the right one! Write a song using that title, but make the song completely unrelated to the film! #skirmish #lightscameraaction
This is also the seed song for #morph #morph1. Learn more about the challenge here: https://fawm.org/forums/3625
The Last Unicorn was the first one I thought of. Lyrics were very stream of consciousness. We real dusty but it's okay. 😂
Lyrics
She isn’t the last But the first of many to come Stuck in a bar by herself With a bottle of sweet martini
She isn’t the last But she surfs on a dream of not being lonely Pock-marked and ear-stained With a sudden tilt in her body
(ooooooo)
She isn’t the last But the first of many to come Keeping just one of the horns on her head Only
Chords for morphing:
She isn’t the last [G, open strings with a finger on the highest string on the 9th fret] But the first of many to come [C D] Stuck in a bar by herself [G, open strings with a finger on the highest string on the 9th fret] With a bottle of sweet martini [C kinda, D]
She isn’t the last [G, open strings with a finger on the highest string on the 9th fret] But she surfs on a dream of not being lonely [Am D] Pock-marked and ear-stained [G Em] With a suddenly tilt in her body [Am D]

The morphs that come from this will be very cool. Beautiful melody and nice set up, Debs.
Wow! You have a great voice and the sparse melody goes so nicely with the guitar. The lyrics are great. I love the line "she surfs on a dream of not being lonely."
What a voice! And... "she surfs on a dream of not being lonely" is powerful. I love the space you left in the song to reflect on those words. Fantastic skirmish!
Lovely melody choices from the go, opened up beautifully for the harmonies too. A sweet contemplative lullaby feel to it for me. ❤️
Minimalist telling of a story. We can easily fill in the blanks. Love the harmonies. Good job on this.
There's a sweet sadness to this, and such great scene building. (And, of course, performed wonderfully.)
Love your harmonies, and the uke - Imagery is powerful and lovely! Well done!
Pretty, pretty singing, I'm a sucker for harmony singing. A bit reminiscent of "The Wailin' Jennys." Gorgeous melody.
Oh this flows so smoothly with such a lovely melody and harmonies in a beautifully tender way that captures the feelings of the unicorn in us all and captivates my heart.
Totally beguiling. Had to listen twice just to enjoy the feeling again.
This is so so so pretty
Lovely harmonies, very pretty tune - altogether delightful!
Oh, I looooove these harmonies. So nostalgic and haunting.
Oh, brave choice. That title evokes instant memories - and high expectations ... that your song totally lived up to. Brilliant harmonies!
I'll never be able to watch the movie again, without imagining the white horsey sitting at a bar sipping her martini. 🤣
Whymsical mood. Love the voicing and guitar picking. You have a beautiful voice
This is a heck of a start to FAWM! Super catchy melodies and really nice harmonies too. Looking forward to more
Really great vox! Good skirmish
Dammmn gurl! There it is. Instant sweetness and beauty! Crushed it out the gate. And a surprisingly cool way to end it.
Oh, this is so PRETTY.
I also have to give kudos as many others have to the line she surfs on a dream of not being lonely because it really is so lovely. I'm obsessed with the choice of "surf" instead of "float" here because I wasn't expecting it - but it's also more active and intentional and risky, and I love that.
Musically it makes me think of a music box, weirdly? It's sweet and hopeful and lovely and I really liked it. Happy FAWM!
